About Me

Dave Atkinson
Documentary in style and approach, I explore the everyday. People and objects of everyday life inspire me to produce work that questions life and how we see it. It’s about posing a question within the viewer’s mind, to sow a seed of thought. I question everything I see around me in a child like manner, questioning our surroundings. Often my work is driven by what has happen in my own life and the aspirations I have. Often searching my own identity through the photographs I make. With my camera I wish to meet people that inspire me, making photographs that inspire others. When making pictures with others it’s about the collaboration I have with that person. I want them to be part of the process of making the photograph as I am. I believe that if the people involved understand purpose of that picture then it has the potential to make a great piece of work.
